Cherry Milkshake

Summer Indulgence – Cherry Milkshake
Just like how I couldn’t resist making blueberry milkshake when I saw blueberries on sale, I recently saw some cheap cherries and decided to make a milkshake out of them too. I find it more enjoyable to drink my fruits rather than to eat them. And they look prettier too when dressed up like this, don’t you think? ;p Great as a meal or snack on its own, or an after-meal dessert drink.
Ingredients
(Makes one tall glass, or 2 1/2 short glasses for dessert)
- 200g vanilla ice cream
- 1.5 tbsp milk
- 150g fresh cherries
- 2 additional cherries & marshmallows for garnishing (optional)
Directions
1. Remove cherry stalk and pit from each cherry. Chop one of the cherries to small dices for garnishing later.
2. Blend ice cream, milk and pitted cherries till smooth, do not overblend or it will become watery.
3. Garnishing ideas: Top with marshmallows and chopped cherries. Make a slit at the bottom of a cherry and slot it to the rim of the glass.

those are pretty cherry milkshakes and very refreshing too!
just nice today i made the blueberry milkshake using yr recipe!! then u posted the cherry one :p what does the cherry one taste like? does it taste distinctively of cherries? i like the kind with the almond scent :p
wow u tried my recipe hehe, do u like the blueberry milkshake? It has a subtle taste of cherries. Oh, I didn’t know there are cherries with almond scent … special breed? I gotta look for those next time :)
i love the blueberry milkshake, to bits!! and i think the marshmallows go very well with it! how come i’ve never thought of pairing marshmallows with shake? i think its an ingenious idea. haha no la, i mean cherries with almond scent are the maraschino ones lor, the preserved kind that they use for decorating cakes? i kinda like that. ben & jerry’s cherry garcia has that almond scent in it :p so please don’t go looking for fresh cherries with almond scent, you’ll nv find it haha.
haha, I am so suaku. Ok, learnt a new food name today, maraschino cherries :-) I throw marshmallows atop my chocolate milk and hot chocolate too. Or else it takes so long to finish one packet. Thanks for your kind words girl
blueberries and cherries don’t ever turn to milkshakes in my home…all straight into my stomach! hahahahah!
I’m so unoriginal with fresh fruit – I either eat it by the handful or compulsively throw it into tart cases. I love this idea! I think it’s time for me to branch out and follow your lead, haha.
fruit tarts sound good to me actually :) Making milkshakes are much fuss-free :D Thanks for coming to my blog.
WOW, those look good but my 437-pound Boyfriend (BigBear) doesn’t need them! Thanks for the post.
Hey cool post.. never tried blending cherries with milk cause I always had this feeling that it would curdle.. but looks great.. worth a try.
It wouldn’t curdle because there isn’t a lot of milk added, but it may oxidise (turn brown after some time) so best to drink it within 10 minutes. Thanks for visiting me btw :)
i am so much doing this milkshake on my daughter’s birthday!! looks really refreshing!!
really! hehe hope she likes it :halo:
Just saw this on Flickr. Fabulous, easy girly glamor. The marshmallow and cherry garnishes are adorable. Love it, Wiffy.
Thanks Susan … love you! hehe :-)

Gorgeous milkshake! Love the cherry on the rim. Come check out and join in the fun at my blog this weekend. I’m having an Ice Cream Social event :-)
Wow. Looks awesome. My husband would be over the moon if I put one of those in front of him. He loves when cherries are in season and this would be a fun way to eat them.
make one for your hubby soon while cherries are still in season! hehe :-) Thanks for visiting my blog.
Very beautiful milkshake! love cherry… love milkshake…. :)
What a nice cherry milkshake! I like the layout of the photo and the great focus on the milkshake. I’ve never heard of a cherry milkshake before; durian yes, but not cherry!
My anti-spam word is interesting. It is ikea…
I’ve never heard of durian milkshake b4! Gotta try it out one day since we have access to durian here :P
my best friend said I could use my freshly picked cheeries to make a milkshake or smoothie and there you go : ) You came up with a recipe, thanks
*sigh* GORGEOUS! I love the coloring you choose for displaying of all your milkshake recipe series. We just bought cherries at the store too! :D
Thanks girl! How cool … so are you going to try my recupe? hehe
Those milkshakes are too cute!! I love the little decorative spoons. The way you set up your photos is so adorable. Will have to grab some fresh cherries and make this refreshing summer treat.
Hope you like my recipe, and welcome! :halo:
Oh yeah, so pretty served up like that. Very refreshing! The cherry has been cheap this year, still have a big bag at home.
I’m so envious of the cheap cherries you have :halo:
Cherry milkshake!! A good idea to use cherries!
I love fresh cherry too. Your milk shake is beautifully decorated. Loves the photos.
Ah… should have posted this earlier… we just finished 1kg of fresh cherries. Argh!!

I love cherries, and your shakes look delicious! Perfect for a summer afternoon. Like right now!
Expensive and beautiful cherry milkshakes! Who will resist it? ;P
Not really expensive when cherries are in season now. S$3 for a punnet only, about the same price as strawberries
cherry milkshake!! pretty color! I got a big bowl of cherry which is not sweet at all! now you gave me an idea to make cherry smoothie!!
hello, may I know do you use a electric blender or just manual blend? I am thinking of buying a blender that can blend ice..
Hi parsley, I am using an electric blender :-)
girl! I haven’t had cherry anything in a looong time, so this is great way to reintroduce to my daily snackage! super pretty picture, too!
Looks really nice. Those little twirled marshmallows look so cute to boot.
Well, Nc, you’ve just given me an idea on what to do with the 3 lbs. of cherries I just bought. Glory be.
