Overnight Oats

Overnight Oats Recipe

You can tweak the amount of milk and yoghurt to achieve your preferred consistency (more watery or chunky).

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats/oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp plain yoghurt
  • assorted fruits in bite-sized pieces such as kiwi, blueberries, pomegranate, raisins
  • assorted seeds and nuts such as almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup to taste

You also need

  • mason jar with lid (you can use a recycled cleaned jam or honey glass jar)

  1. Combine oats, milk and yoghurt in a mason jar. Cover with lid and chill in fridge overnight, or at least 5 hours.
  2. Top with fruits, nuts and maple syrup to serve.

  1. I don’t use dairy, but soy milk. And the sweet stuff (maple syrup) is not that healthy (read: fattening). Just fruits will do and there is enough sugar in that. I also soak my oats along with raisins. Nice, juicy and puffy the next day.

    • Good idea to skip the maple syrup, if one finds the oats tasty enough on its own. The amount of maple syrup in the recipe is to taste :)

  2. These oats are so delicious, I don’t mind having them for breakfast every morning!

  3. I need savory food for dinner! hahahah! Your overnight oats looks beautifully delicious. Nowadays I am lazy to even make overnight oats!! :O
