Fruit Infused Water (Pineapple, Apple, Passion Fruit, Basil)

Fruit-infused water (Pineapple, Apple, Passionfruit, Basil)

The measurements used are indicative, just “eyeball” the amount of fruits and water needed for the jug you are using.

You can speed up or enhance the infusion by using a muddler to poke the pineapple pieces, and scrunching up the basil leaves before adding to the jug.

Ingredients:

  • 50 grams pineapple flesh cubed
  • half red apple cubed
  • 2 slices lime
  • half passion fruit
  • a few basil leaves
  • 300 ml clean drinking water

You also need

  • 500 ml glass jug, pitcher or bottle with lid

Directions:

Fill the glass jug up to three-quarters with the cut fruits, then pour clean drinking water to the brim. Refrigerate for 1 hour before drinking. You may add more water throughout the day to enjoy this drink.  The drink can also be chilled overnight to be enjoyed as a detox breakfast drink first thing in the morning.

Variations: Use brewed green tea or sparkling water in place of water. Add 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (to taste) if you wish to sweeten the drink.

  1. wow I want to visit that market! Love all the fruit!

  2. How long will you be there? I don’t think I can “survive” in such markets – my Mandarin not good enough!!! And they also speak very fast …hahahha

This time I did not have the luxury to enjoy their fresh fruits while I am there….bummer!

    • I am here for about a month. What? I think your Mandarin is better than mine :D Oh did you fly in and out already? It’s ok, always next time :)
