I love blueberry season, where our supermarkets will be well stocked with cheap and fresh blueberries. With the prices falling to S$2 per punnet, I have been having home-made blueberry smoothie for the past week.
The drink is chunky and filling on its own because of the yoghurt and milk. It makes for a light and healthy breakfast, or an anytime refreshing drink.
Just four ingredients – blueberries, plain or greek yoghurt, honey or maple syrup (affiliate link from iherb.com) and fresh milk.
It’s really easy to make – just put all the ingredients inside a blender for a few seconds. You want to serve it immediately because the drink will oxidize and lose its vibrant purple hue when exposed to air for too long.
Adjust the milk for the consistency you like – less milk for thicker smoothie, and more milk for less thick consistency. You can also add in one ripe banana in the blend for extra sweetness.
Blend everything together until smooth. Pour into serving glass(es) and top with some fresh blueberries. Serve immediately.
