With the US blueberry season here again, our supermarkets are once again well stocked with cheap and fresh blueberries. I bought mine for S$2.50 a punnet.

As usual, I couldn’t resist buying more punnets of blueberries than I possibly need, and so I thought of putting the excess to good use by making this blueberry smoothie. The drink is quite chunky and filling on its own because of the yoghurt and milk. This drink can make for a light and healthy breakfast, or an in-between meals snack.

Blueberry Smoothie Recipe

If you like some blueberry bits in the smoothie like I do, just blend briskly for a few seconds.

Serves: 1 glass (250 ml)

Prep Time: 5 mins


  • 150g low fat plain or vanilla flavoured yogurt
  • 125g fresh blueberries
  • 100ml milk
  • 2 tsp honey (optional; omit if you like the natural sourness of the blueberries)


Blend everything together in a blender.

Noob Cook Tips

  1. Adjust the milk for the consistency you like - less milk for thicker smoothie, and more milk for less thick.
  2. You can also add in one ripe banana in the blend for extra sweetness.

    I’ve been drinking blueberry smoothies every day for the past two weeks! I love blueberry season! I never made mine with milk. These look creamy and delicious!

    Just got back from a holiday where I had watermelon smoothie, mango smoothie and a ‘Mars Bar’ smoothie – love smoothies. This blueberry smoothie looks divine. Is the straw too thin for the smoothie?

    Wiffy, this is my type of drink too! A bit like blueberry lassi … or maybe it is! Haha! I saw punnets of blueberries on sale at Cold Storage … was hesitating if I should get them to make something … Maybe I should. *Sigh*
