The most elaborate dish I’d ever prepared using a microwave oven will be Chicken & Broccoli baked rice, the cheese did melt though no browning effect. But that was a few years ago as we currently don’t have a microwave oven in our new house. Nowadays only use the microwave in our pantry office for reheating.

The most elaborate cooking that I did was cooking was Stuffed Bean Curd.
Mine will be a quick, simple and healthy cheese omelette! Just sprinkle diced tomato, ham, chopped spinach, some milk and cheese! Pop into the microwave and voila! A healthy meal done!
That will be Chocolate Brownie. The kids love it… :)

Most elaborated dish to be done in a microwave would be a bowl of tomyum noodles with enoki mushrooms, topped up with scallops, bacon and a dash of wakame. Hehe my mom is a weird cook! :)

My most elaborate meal in a microwave oven is bread and butter pudding. I prepared the mixture – buttered bread slices and poured milk+sugar+eggs over it. Sprinkle on raisins, then microwaved on high for 5 mins. It’s very fast! Then i turned on the grill element and toasted it a bit to make it brown
My most elaborate meal in a microwave is baked rice, though the cheese wont melt as nice as in oven but I only have microwave in house. Haha.. It’s easy, quick, simple and healthy meal for my whole family. The most important is everyone enjoy the food together :)

My most elaborated dish that i have cooked using a microwave oven is chocolate cookies. Although it sounds simple and i’m sure most of us have done it, to me it adds as a special purpose and meaning. Because of the oven, i am able to bake such tasty cookies and share with my best friends as well as getting A for my cooking exam. From then on, i know that i love cooking and be the most outstanding novice baker :D

My first attempt of elaborated dish using microwave oven is baking pineapple tarts during CNY. Will gather all in family to help to knead, roll and ‘chop-out’ pineapple pastry. Hope to have a new microwave soon!
The most elaborate dish I’ve prepared in a microwave would be a crustless quiche :)
I used the microwave oven to prepare the pineapple fillings for pineapple tarts. Saves lots of time compared to stove , microwave 2 mins, off and open door, stir and repeat 7 times. After that, can see the pinapple fibres and yummy, ready to use the fillings for pineapple tarts!
The most elaborate dish that I’ve prepared in a microwave would be the Glutinous Rice with Shitake Mushrooms.
Though, I don’t get to savour it but seeing my family enjoyed, makes me happy and my effort worthwhile.

The Quickie Grilled Salmon!
It’s fast and easy, but most importantly it’s yummy!
It’s the Singapore signature dish – chilli crabs, elaborative but was easy and fast! The most wonderful thing is it keeps the meat tender and juicy without overbooking!
Hmm…finger licking!
“or ni” – the Teochew yam paste. Require few steps but the turnout was fantastic. Simply delicious and favorable! The texture of the paste is so smooth and yummy!

My most elaborate dish is white button mushroom and asparagus!
It’s gotta be fried shallots – it’s elaborate because of the sheer amount of hassle and cleaning up I save by not deep-frying over the stove. It works just fine in the microwave and the most amazing thing is, my mum discovered the method and taught me! Since most people love fried shallots but loathe the deep-frying, they will love to know a microwave does the trick too :)
I don’t need a mw oven since I already have one, just to give my support.
I only use mw to melt butter/chocolate, maybe the most elaborate would be “frying” anchovies :p
The one Elaborated dish I had done up was Steamed Ginger-Garlic-Puree Mid-Wing Chicken.
1) Mixing minced ginger and garlic in a rice-bowl-quantity and adding shaoxin wine, light soy sauce and sesame oil to the mixture.
2) Prepare 6 to 8 mid-wing chicken parts and cut through-slits on the middle of each wing. Lay them flat on a casserole with glass-lid.
3) Coat all wings with the ginger-garlic-sesame oil mixture and using the “Steam” function on the microwave to cook them. 2 stages of steaming needed as you are flip the wings the other side and steam them again. Dish can be ready after about 8-10 minutes of cooking on each side, depending on your microwave oven power output. Enjoy!

Please don’t enter me for this contest…Your question prompted me to think about what I have been using my microwave oven for… I probably have underused it for I only use it for reheating and melting chocolates… Possibly cooking the Mochi flour for daifuku was the most meaningful thing I have used it for…

that would be indian style red chicken curry with carrots and potatoes(including the spices like star anise & etc all thrown in). although it took me almost 3 hours to get them all done. oh yeah, the white rice to go with the red curry was cooked in the microwave too.

Mine would be Orange Chiffon Cake. It’s amazing how the microwave can actually bake a chiffon cake that rise beautifully with soft & fluffy texture, comparable to a conventional oven.

Oh gosh, my most elaborate dish…hmm…I have done up 3 dishes plus a soup with rice with microwave oven. I always like salmon, which is not easy to control, especially if you want it medium-rare cooked.
However, my favorite fish has to be Pan-fried Cod with lot of fried shredded ginger on top for garnish.

For a lazy wife who do not like using the wok, my most elaborate dish have to be cod fish in oyster sauce. I normally just cook it with the “Steam Fish” function and the trusty microwave never fail to cook it to perfection. Always turn out moist and juicy. :)

I think the most elaborate dish that I’ve made using the microwave oven is Milo Chocolate Cake in a microwave cup. Only need 5 minutes and it’s fantastically yummy!
