Noob Cook Recipes

About

Hi, I’m wiffy the Noob Cook. I’m from the sunny city of Singapore.

Welcome to my recipes blog! I enjoy cooking even though I don’t think I’m very good at it. Being a noob* at cooking doesn’t, however, deter me from entering the kitchen and trying to whip up a storm. In this blog, I feature recipes of the successful dishes I’ve made. Hopefully, my bravery in entering the kitchen and showcasing the recipes will be an inspiration to other noobs out there.

* In case you are wondering what noob means, here are some of the applicable definitions at urban dictionary:

Being a Noob Cook doesn’t mean we eat in all the time! Noob Cook Reviews (sister site) is a personal blog of our eat-out and travel escapades, where we share our foodie and travel finds with our readers. All featured reviews and content on Noob Cook Reviews site are explored at our own expense and recreation (non sponsored).

    Hi there

I like your recipes, simple and easy. Mum’s recipes remind my childhood used to have them.

    Kind regards
    Sally

Hello! Thanks for your inspiration! There are so many food blogs out there but its nice to find another noob (just like myself)! I only started getting really interested in cooking 3 months ago, and started noob cooking site too : http://dish-by-dish.posterous.com so its nice to see that I’m not alone!

Thanks for sharing the Sporean dishes too! I never really learnt how to cook SG dishes when I was back home, but now that I’m far away in Argentina, your recipes are gg to help me when i have cravings for SG dishes!!

        Hi Wiffy,
I’ve just had another thought. I know you’re on vacation and may take a while to reply, so no worries, just take your time. I was wondering if you would like to do a guest post on my blog? Since your blog originally started as a noob cook blog (for newbies like myself that is inspiring), I thought it might be interesting to feature you on my blog with a couple of Q&A? If you’re keen, let me know!

        Felicia

Hi Wiffy, have been following your blog for over a year and love your style. I have a blog myself (not commercialized but more for personal rants) and have recently written a series of Why We Don’t Cook, in which I’ve included a link to NoobCook – hope you don’t mind :) http://www.frenchinosathome.com/1/post/2012/07/why-we-dont-cook-part-3.html

Keep doing what you do! Cheers!

    Hi Wiffy,

I just want to express my sincere thanks for all your Chinese recipes and cooking notes. They have been invaluable to me as a husband who has never cooked in his life, and has followed his significant other to a posting to some boring spot in Europe where Chinatown is non-existant…

My wife loves my rudimentary cooking and that is testament to your great site!

    Hi Wiffy,
May I know how to print out the recipe from your blog..Normally when I cook I will paste the recipe in my kitchen so I don’t need to keep opening my ipad :)
I’m interested in many of your recipe, unfortunately it can’t be printed..any way to print it?
    Thanks

    Hi Wiffy,

I happened to stumble upon your website and…. I just love it! In just a short while and i’ve picked up so many tips! You are so detailed! I’ve recently started cooking again on my own after we do away with the domestic helper after 14 years! Can’t wait to try your receipts this weekend! Many thanks!

i do not have my mum’s good culinery skills, and being a wife for 4years i have never cook a decent meal for my hubby – until i came to know this website. I am still learning (trying out watercress soup tonight) and enjoying it. Now i am happy to do weekend morning marketing more than before. Thanks for sharing!
