30 seconds shameless self plug starts here== This black pepper beef dish is my favourite chinese stir fry … the family get loads of satisfaction every time I cook this. First time I wokked this, B’s major complaint after the meal was a resounding …. “NOT ENOUGH!! IS THAT ALL!! WHY DO YOU COOK SO LITTLE!!” hehehe … I’m quite confident that everyone who try this dish will like it! We really lick up everything (from the gravy to the sliced ginger) on the plate! And the black pepper marinade can be used to stir fry chicken and other foods too, if you do not take beef. It’s easy too - there are only 4 short steps (see recipe below) ==End of shameless self plug
So, have I convinced you to try it out already?
Before I show you the recipe, a note about the source: This recipe is courtesy of my friend Joyce, who in my opinion is a very good cook. I told her that since I am a noob cook, she shall be known as the good cook, but she humbly proclaim herself as a ‘chin chye cook’ (chin chye = nochalent) instead. Wah, chin chye cook already so pro, I have chu all my power and I still can’t cook half 1/4 as well =P Hee, thanks for sharing your recipe, girl! xoxo

This does look like a great recipe — we often take black (and white) pepper for granted, because we put it in everything, but it’s really a star ingredient in this stir fry.

Gee, noob, I love to find recipes which consist of ingredients I don’t need to shop for. I think I love you.
And I particularly love pepper steak, but my recipe is a bit of a wimp in regards to the amount of black pepper, so I know I will enjoy yours.

So I had the chance to make over the weekend, minus the celery & bell peppers, and it’s really really goooddd!
I modified it a little (added butter) so I could have more sauce.
I think the ginger & the sesame oil made it yummy
